Strumica, 20 January 2024 (MIA) - One person has died and nine other were injured after a multiple car crash on the Gevgelija-Bogdanci road on Friday.

According to Strumica police officers, four vehicles were involved in the car crash, including a Mercedes vehicle with licence plates from another vehicle, carrying seven migrants from Syria. The driver was a 48-year-old person from Makedonska Kamenica.

A 68-year-old driver of an Opel Corsa vehicle with Gevgelija licence plates has died after the injuries, and his co-driver sustained heavy injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles also sustained heavy injuries, and the migrants received injuries as well, said the Strumica police. 

The scene of the traffic accident was cordoned off and inspected by Gevgelija police officers and a public prosecutor. A firefighting vehicle with a three-member crew from the Gevgelija firefighting unit was also involved in extrication efforts.
