Skopje, 5 January 2022 (MIA) - Out of 56 samples testing positive for COVID-19 after being analyzed in a lab of the Public Health Institute, the Omicron variant was detected in 33, the Health Ministry said Wednesday. "It is 59% of all COVID-19 positive samples," it added. The new variant was discovered in 33 patients, including 16 patients in Skopje, 10 in Ohrid, 4 in Tetovo, two in Kavadarci and one patient in Kochani. A combination of the two viruses, Influenza A and SARS CoV 2, was detected in three patients in Skopje, said the Ministry.
