Skopje, 29 July 2025 (MIA) - All state institutions and public legal entities are obligated to replace the registration plates of their official vehicles by September 15 with distinct colored plates, said the Government's General Affairs Department on Tuesday.

The Government passed the decision at today's session, at the initiative of the Department's director Ivica Tomovski.

The goal is clear: increased transparency, accountability and control in the use of official vehicles. This measure will enable citizens to make a clear distinction between official and private vehicles, while also preventing their abuse for personal, private or partisan purposes, said the Department.

A phone line will also be launched in the coming period, at which citizens can report misuse of official vehicles, whereas a central registry of all official vehicles is nearing completion.
