Official COVID-19 stats: 2,043 tests, 770 new infections, 207 reinfections, 3,121 active cases
Skopje, 19 July 2022 (MIA) — Of the 2,043 SARS-CoV-2 tests done in North Macedonia's laboratories on Monday, 770 came back positive for the airborne virus. Of them, 207 were confirmed reinfections. And four deaths have been added to the country's official COVID-19 death toll, which is 9,343 at the moment, health authorities said Tuesday. According to the Ministry of Health citing Institute of Public Health data, there are now 3,121 active SARS-CoV-2 cases nationwide, of which 1,562 in Skopje. Of the 770 new SARS-CoV-2 cases, 364 were diagnosed in Skopje. New infections were also reported in Bitola – 47, Ohrid – 46, Kumanovo and Kavadarci – 38 each, Tetovo – 30, Prilep and Veles – 26, Negotino – 17, Strumica – 16, Shtip – 15, Kochani and Struga – 14 each, Resen – 13, Gostivar – 12, Gevgelija – 10, Kriva Palanka – 7, Radovish and Kratovo – 5 each, Debar and Krushevo – 4 each, Sveti Nikole and Valandovo – 3 each, Kichevo, Probishtip, Makedonski Brod and Makedonska Kamenica – 2 each, Delchevo, Berovo, Bogdanci, Demir Hisar and Demir Kapija – one new infection in each town. Officially, 363 people recovered from their acute COVID-19 infection. Two people died from SARS-CoV-2 in the past 24 hours: a 23-year-old from Sveti Nikole and a 76-year-old in Skopje. They both died in hospital. Additionally, two people who died from the virus on June 20 and 28 were added to the official SARS-CoV-2 death toll: a 73-year-old from Radovish and a 66-year-old from Kriva Palanka. One of them died in hospital, and the other person died at home. Since the start of the pandemic, 9,343 people have died in North Macedonia from SARS-CoV-2. The country's laboratories have performed a total of 2,100,604 coronavirus tests, officially logging 319,806 COVID-19 cases and declaring 307,342 recoveries. mr/
