Skopje, 11 July 2024 (MIA) - The number of tourists in May in the country was 106.604, 25.5 percent of which were domestic and 74.5 percent were foreign tourists, said the State Statistical Office on Thursday.

The number of nights spent in May 2024 was 200.439, of which 29.4% are realised by domestic and the other 70.6% are realised by foreign tourists.

In the period January - May 2024, compared to the same period last year, the number of tourists increased by 12.0%: the number of domestic tourists increased by 2.6%, while that of foreign tourists increased by 16.6%.

In the period January - May 2024, compared to the same period last year, the number of nights spent increased by 10.2%: the number of nights spent by domestic tourists increased by 8.8%, while those by foreign tourists increased by 11.0%.
