Copenhagen, 31 March 2023 (dpa/MIA) - Authorities in Norway have seized a record amount of cocaine hidden in a shipment of South American fruit following a tip-off from Germany.

More than 800 kilos of the drug were seized in Oslo this week, police said on Thursday, according to the NTB news agency. There have been no arrests so far, Inspector Grete Metlid of the Oslo police told a press conference.

Having an estimated street value of tens of millions of euros, the consignment was linked to 1,200 kilos of cocaine recently found among crates of Ecuadorean bananas in Germany's Brandenburg region.
