Skopje, 6 July 2022 (MIA) - The Commission for Infectious Diseases has reviewed the conclusions of the National Immunization Committee regarding the roll-out of a fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The fourth COVID-19 shot is available to those over 18, who have received three doses of the vaccine.
As of Wednesday, citizens can go to vaccination points without an appointment scheduled ahead, the Ministry of Health said.
Either Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccines will be available for the fourth dose to people who have had their previous booster shot at least four months ago, particularly those who are immunicompromised, dialysis patients, patients who have undergone transplants, oncology patients, and patients taking immunosuppressive and immunomodulatory therapy for any indication, and people over 60.
Vaccination is the best preventive measure for protection against a more severe case of Covid-19. The country has a sufficient amount of vaccines, which are safe and effective. Citizens are urged to get their immunization done at vaccine points in order to build immunity against COVID-19, the Ministry of Health says. dk/nn/
