Skopje, 13 September 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia and Montenegro have no open issues and the goal is to improve further our cooperation, to help each other and to share experiences as part of the EU integration process, concurred the countries’ agriculture ministers on Monday. In Skopje, Agriculture Minister Arjanit Hoxha hosted his Montenegrin counterpart Aleksandar Stijović for talks on ways to intensify cooperation, improve trade and solve issues targeting agriculture in both countries. According to the ministers, phytosanitary policies and water management are some of the areas where cooperation can be boosted. “We held friendly and open talks in the interest of the two countries. The goal is to improve the standards of farmers and conduct joint activities in trade according to the signed agreements. We fare better in some areas, whereas North Macedonia is better in others. We’ve improved cooperation, which will hopefully result in better results for the citizens of both countries,” Stijović told reporters after meeting with Hoxha. Speaking at a joint news conference, Minister Hoxha said challenges can be overcome by sharing ideas and practices. “Representing two friendly countries, we discussed issues affecting us. We discussed phytosanitary policies, water management and agricultural policies. These are the areas where we can cooperate and help each other,” he stated.
