North Macedonia joins Global Forum on Cyber Expertise
Skopje, 25 November 2022 (MIA) - At an initiative launched by the Deputy Prime Minister for Good Governance Policies, Slavica Grkovska, North Macedonia became the 103rd member of the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE). It is comprised of the governments of the most developed countries in the world regarding cyber security, organizations including OSCE, the World Bank, the United Nations, the European Union, the Council of Europe, as well as chambers of commerce and private cyber security companies, the government said Friday. The government with all the ministries and institutions working in the field of cyber security within GFCE are focused on four topics - policies and strategies, management of incidents and protection of the infrastructure from cyber attacks, cyber crime, cyber culture and building of capacities. "International cooperation and coordination of the government and the organizations will be increased through GFCE that offer support and are dedicated to the cyber issue in North Macedonia. To that end, GFCE has prepared a platform for monitoring and coordination of projects and activities," said the press release. Cyber security is a key element of a country's defense system, it was noted. "It is of vital importance for North Macedonia to enhance cyber security and cyber resilience and to keep working with the international partners and keep developing in the area so as to meet the EU standards for cyber safe society all the while protecting the citizens and the state systems from cyber attacks," stated the press release.
