North Macedonia isn't conditioning EU, we want to eliminate mistakes from the past, says Murtezani

Skopje, 24 March 2025 (MIA) – North Macedonia is not imposing conditions for the European Union because the accession process of a candidate country is conducted after being requested by us, Minister for European Affairs Orhan Murtezani said Monday.
“Accession conditions are set by Brussels with adequate dynamic and reforms and the Reform Agenda also includes concrete dates. It is up to us to implement the reforms. We do not impose conditions, but we voice concern over what we believe was done wrong in the past. And we try to eliminate those mistakes in the future,” Murtezani said responding to a reporter’s question in today’s news conference.
In the news conference, the minister said North Macedonia has received first funds amounting to €52.4 million from the pre-financing under the EU's Reform and Growth Facility, including €24.4 million is for budget support and has already been transferred to the Ministry of Finance.
