Nobel winner Dan Shechtman to speak at MANU's first Materials Science Conference
Skopje, 25 May 2023 (MIA) — Launching its first international Materials Science Conference, the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts MANU will host a lecture by Dan Shechtman, winner of 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for discovering quasicrystals.
Organized by the Research Center for Environment and Materials at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the conference will run through May 27.
It will open with speeches by Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts president Ljupcho Kocarev and by organizing committee chair Gligor Jovanovski.
The three-day conference will be attended by scientists from Italy, Ireland, Finland, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Japan and the United States. mr/
