Sofia, 13 December 2021 (MIA) – Bulgaria’s new Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska said Monday the country’s position on North Macedonia would not change at this stage, MIA reports from Sofia. Caretaker FM Svetlan Stoev said during the handover of the post that the Macedonian side must understand this is not an issue that can be solved by outside pressure but only through bilateral dialogue. Stoev said North Macedonia presented the responses to the 5+1 package at the recent NATO ministerial in Riga. Bulgaria’s permanent representative in Brussels will represent the country at Tuesday’s meeting of the General Affairs Council, while President Rumen Radev will attend the December 16 Council meeting.
