No aid or evacuation requests from Macedonian nationals in Lebanon: Ministry

Skopje, 30 September 2024 (MIA) - There have been no requests for assistance or evacuation from Macedonian nationals in Lebanon so far, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade told MIA on Monday.
“Due to the worsened security situation in Lebanon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia on several occasions urged all our nationals currently in Lebanon to leave the country at the earliest opportunity and delay all unnecessary travel to the country,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry stressed it has made all its assistance capacities available to Macedonian nationals through its 24/7 line +389 72 268 736 and the globalsos@mfa.gov.mk email address.
“Up until this moment, the Ministry has not received any requests for aid or evacuation by our nationals, nor have we received notice that there are Macedonian nationals currently in the country,” the Ministry said.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, more than 100 people were killed in the latest Israeli attacks on the country, while the death toll from the past two weeks has risen to over 1.000, with 600 injured.
