Skopje, 19 June 2024 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE MP and member of the party's executive committee, Aleksandar Nikoloski, who is also a candidate for Deputy PM and Minister of Transport, said Wednesday that in addition to reduction of institutions, there will also be a reduction of director positions, and several agencies related to the ministries will be scrapped.

Nikoloski told Telma TV's Top Tema that in addition to reduction of the number of institutions in the country by about 20 percent, and about 20 percent of officials' positions, there will also be a reduction of economic directors.

"Hospitals will not have two directors because we believe that this is one of the reasons for the collapse of the system. Therefore, there will only be one director for the Clinical Center, the Health Insurance Fund will have one director instead of two, hospitals across the country will also have one director instead of two," Nikoloski said. 

He added that several agencies related to the ministries will also be scrapped. 

"The Energy Agency is being scrapped, the Fund for Innovation will also be scrapped, and a serious investigation will be done there," said Nikoloski.  

He pointed out that not all newly appointed people will be under political merit, and as regards the reforms that lead to more efficient work, he announced that the number of employees will also be reduced in order to have a more efficient administration.

"We are all aware that the public administration is too extensive and inefficient, and we are all aware that the private sector already has a shortage of workforce. These are things that must be changed in favor of the private sector. If we want an efficient state to some extent, the public sector must be reduced and the private sector must grow," said Nikoloski.
