New presidential candidate begins collecting signatures with two days left until deadline: SEC

Skopje, 6 March 2024 (MIA) – With two days remaining until the deadline for the collection of support signature for presidential candidates, the State Election Commission received Wednesday an initiative for the collection of support signatures by Dragan Nikolovski.
So far, seven candidates have managed to secure their place in the presidential elections by securing 10.000 signatures.
The latest data by SEC shows that Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova (VMRO-DPMNE) has collected 28.086 signatures, Stevo Pendarovski (SDSM) – 22.411, Maksim Dimitrievski (ZNAM) – 11.605, Stevcho Jakimovski (GROM) – 11.202, Bujar Osmani (DUI) – 11.085, Arben Taravari (Coalition Worth It) – 10.710, and Biljana Vankovska (Levica) – 10.500.
Other candidates are still collecting signatures, with Mersiha Smailovikj (Bosniak Democratic Alliance) at 1876 thus far, Velo Markovski - 1551, Gjorgji Manaskov - 468, Zorica Cvetkovska - 255, Gospodin Popovski – 137. Tome Nikoloski and Goce Ristov, who began collecting signatures on Tuesday, are yet to receive any signatures.
The signature collection runs in all SEC departments and offices across 34 municipalities and at notaries public.
Potential candidates need to submit their bids to the SEC by March 19 at midnight.
