New MRI-equipped diagnostic center opens in “September 8” general hospital
Skopje, 10 November 2022 (MIA) – A new MRI-equipped diagnostic center opened in Skopje-based general hospital “September 8” on Thursday. The equipment has been procured through the programme for rationalization of the management and modernization of bio-medicine technology in the health sector, in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy.
Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, who attended the event alongside Health Minister Bekim Sali and Italian Ambassador Andrea Silvestri, said investments in the health sector are never-ending, even amid a crisis.
“Health is one of the Government’s priorities” said PM Kovachevski added that the equipment would be immediately put into use.
Minister Sali said the equipment was part of a larger procurement worth EUR 1,1 million.
“The two MRI devices are worth EUR 754,168, provided through the programme for rationalization of the management and modernization of bio-medicine technology in the health sector, in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy,” said Minister Sali.
According to him, the hospital staff is currently trained by professionals from Italy.
