Skopje, 19 February 2025 (MIA) - With the new law on higher education we plan to reform the Agency for Quality of Higher Education, which we expect will become functional as a result, Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska told journalists at a press conference Wednesday.

“I regret I have to say this, but it is a fact that the work of the Accreditation Board, i.e., the Agency for Quality of Higher Education, does not meet the needs of the already relatively weak educational system and the issues we face in the higher education. We expect to have a new director of the Agency since the previous one was dismissed by Parliament. But with the new law on higher education that we are drafting we plan to reform this institution, which we expect will become functional as a result and fulfill its functions,” Janevska said.

The Minister added that the Education Ministry is continuing its work on a solution regarding the concept for secondary gymnasium education. Janevska also told journalists air purifiers would be installed in numerous schools as a result of a decision made by the Government on Tuesday.
