Brussels, 22 May 2023 (MIA) - Avesta Battery & Energy Engineering (ABEE) from Belgium is setting up a new Battery Management System (BMS) and Power Electronics Systems company in North Macedonia, an investment worth €40 million.

The company is to create 600 jobs and will build a production plant in the Technological Industrial Development Zone in Kichevo, MIA’s Brussels correspondent reports.

Technological Industrial Development Zones (TIDZ) Director Jovan Despotovski and Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi are to sign on Monday in Brussels are to sign the new investment agreement.

Bekteshi and Despotovski's visit is within President Stevo Pendarovski's official visit to Belgium.

Business forums are planned in the economic part of the visit, to present North Macedonia's opportunities to Belgian companies, MIA reports.

President Stevo Pendarovski is paying a working visit to the Kingdom of Belgium Sunday through Tuesday.

As part of the visit, President Pendarovski will have an audience with King Philip and meet with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, the President of the Chamber of Representatives of Belgium, Eliane Tillieux, as well as the President of Belgium Senate, Stephanie D'Hose.

On Sunday, the Macedonian delegation met in Brussels with the Macedonian diaspora in Belgium, discussing latest developments in the country and various topics of interest for the diaspora.
