New generation of police officers promoted

Skopje, 25 January 2025 (MIA) - New police officers of the 2024-2025 generation were promoted Saturday at the Police Training Center in Idrizovo.

At the ceremony, Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski said that the Ministry is welcoming 497 new colleagues, the next generation of protectors of public safety.

“The well-being and development of a society are based on the respect for laws, the rule of law, and the efficient operation of the security system. This means we must create, develop, and enhance a modern, well-equipped, skilled, and professional police force, one that is also satisfied, and will carry out its duties lawfully, competently, responsibly, and transparently, in the name of the citizens, and in the name of the people,” Toshkovski said.

Toshkovski also noted that the construction of new police stations is ongoing and will continue, alongside plans to modernize the Ministry’s vehicle fleet, introduce new, functional uniforms, and upgrade the material and technical aspects of all organizational units. He emphasized that working conditions will be improved through regular salary increases for all employees within the Ministry of Interior.

Vlatko Mitkovski, the Assistant Minister at the Police Training Center, told the 13 teams of new police officers that their promotion is both a recognition and a testament to their work, effort, and commitment.

“Your fellow citizens will always rely on you for safeguarding both individual and collective security. By wearing the police uniform, you become part of a large police family. You are here not just for the citizens, but also for one another,” Mitkovski stated.

During the promotion, certificates and commendations were presented to the best police candidates of the generation.
