Skopje, 27 December 2023 (MIA) - A total of 919 companies have invested over EUR 500 million over the past six years, receiving EUR 100 million in state support, in line with the Law on Financial Support of Investments, said Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi on Wednesday.
In 2023, EUR 39.6 million have been allocated to 513 companies, which realized EUR 153 million-worth of investments in 2022.
"Regional distribution is the largest this year, with a 63.3-percent share of the support provided to companies outside the Skopje region," said Deputy PM Bytyqi.
He added that the Plan for Economic Growth was introduced in 2017 and the first payments were made by the end of 2018.
"Zero companies were supported before the Law on Financial Support of Investments. The law has led to equal treatment of domestic and foreign companies," noted Bytyqi.
