Skopje, 9 January 2026 (MIA) — Large parts of the country can expect intermittent rain early Saturday, with the rain turning into snow nationwide by the evening and overnight, the national weather service said Friday.
A moderate to heavy wind will blow from the south, with speeds reaching 60 km/h.
Western parts should brace for heavy snow, with as much as 20 cm of snow falling in just a few hours in higher altitude places. Other places may get a snow cover of 5-10 cm.
The Sunday forecast calls for more snow and strong gusts of northern wind, which will blow all through Monday.
The cold snap will send next week's morning temperatures dipping below -10, with daytime temperatures remaining below zero.
Skopje will see intermittent rain and snow showers Saturday morning. Expect only snow later in the day, overnight and all through Sunday, accompanied by a biting wind from the north. mr/
