National Jazz Orchestra premises refurbished

Skopje, 14 March 2024 (MIA) - The premises set to be used by newly-established institution National Jazz Orchestra are currently refurbished. The Ministry of Culture has allocated Mden 11.7 million (EUR 190,000) of which Mden 10 million (162,000) from the TAV programme.

Culture Minister Bisera Kostadinovska Stojchevska said at Wednesday's inspection of construction works that Skopje would get a new place for music creation.

"The premises will include a rehearsal area, storage room for musical instruments, administrative offices, recording and directing studio, namely everything that is required to create quality," said Minister Kostadinovska-Stojchevska.

TAV Construction director Fatih Kan said they are pleased to take part in the project that contributes to Macedonian culture and society in general.

"The refurbishment of the premises within the National Opera and Ballet is one of the 95 Government projects funded by TAV Airports worth EUR 49.7 million," said Kan.

Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi expressed assurance that all TAV projects would be completed in a timely and proper fashion.

"Nearly 70 projects have been realized until now and 23 are remaining," said Deputy PM Bytyqi.

Minister Kostadinovska-Stojchevska said the project should be completed by the end of June.

The TAV Programme includes investments in infrastructure projects in municipalities nationwide amounting to nearly EUR 50 million, funds that have been reallocated after the Government shelved plans for construction of a cargo airport in Shtip.
