National Bank Governor Angelovska-Bezhoska to attend WB, IMF Spring Meetings
- National Bank Governor Anita Angelovska-Bezhoska and Deputy Finance Minister Filip Nikolovski are heading a delegation taking part in the 2024 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC.
Skopje, 18 April 2024 (MIA) - National Bank Governor Anita Angelovska-Bezhoska and Deputy Finance Minister Filip Nikolovski are heading a delegation taking part in the 2024 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC.
The National Bank's delegation also includes Vice Governor Fadil Bajrami.
National Bank Governor Angelovska-Bezhoska and Vice Governor Bajrami will hold separate meetings with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li, Director of the IMF European Department, Alfred Kammer, as well as IMF Executive Director Paul Hilbers and Alternate Executive Director Luc Dresse.
"Discussions at the meetings with IMF representatives will focus on economic situation in the country and the effectiveness of the monetary policy in curbing inflation. The National Bank’s delegation will hold a meeting with representatives from the statistics and monetary and capital markets departments at the International Monetary Fund. During this meeting, they will share the achievements and results of the successful mutual cooperation,” as informed by the National Bank.
As part of the Spring Meetings, Angelovska-Bezhoska will also meet with the WB Regional Vice President Antonella Bassani and WB Executive Director representing the constituency, Eugene Rhuggenaath. In addition, National Bank’s delegation will take part in the regular meeting of the constituent countries in the WB.
The Spring Meetings bring together policymakers, including central bank governors and finance ministers from member nations, to discuss policies and financial reforms geared towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on climate change and gender equality.
