N. Macedonia, Slovenia to improve agricultural cooperation by implementing action plan
Skopje, 19 August 2022 (MIA) - Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupcho Nikolovski during his visit to Slovenia on Friday met with the Slovenian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, Irena Šinko for talks on ways to improve bilateral cooperation by implementing projects included in the Action Cooperation Plan between the two ministries.
The 2021-2024 Action Cooperation Plan was signed in November 2021 during the 15th Tirana Ministerial Meeting. It covers activities for support of associations of young farmers, rural crediting, the Slovenian experience in co-financing IPARD projects, the necessity for the establishment of a guarantee fund and implementation of new rural loan models as well as exchange of practical experience for the application of agroecological measures, sharing of experiences for the introduction of Agricultural Knowledge and Information Systems (AKIS) and other types of cooperation, said the Agriculture Ministry.
The two ministers also shared views on Slovenia's expert support in North Macedonia's accession negotiations with the EU, added the press release.
Minister Nikolovski will take part in the 60th International Fair of Agriculture and Food AGRA FAIR 2022, taking place in the Slovenian town of Gornja Radgona. At the fair, North Macedonia will organize a presentation at a national showcase of the opportunities for investing in business development, especially enhancing of the cooperation with Slovenia and other countries in the region.
