N. Macedonia, Serbia and Albania agree Open Balkan activities ahead of Tirana Summit
Belgrade, 14 November 2021 (MIA) – Ministers from North Macedonia, Serbia and Albania signed a conclusion from the working meetings held over the weekend, which defines all activities set to be conducted ahead of the Tirana Summit in late December, MIA’s Belgrade correspondent reported.
The activities will contribute to mitigating trade and cooperation as regards food safety as well as phytosanitary and veterinary inspection, Serbian Finance Minister Sinisha Mali has stated after the two-day meeting ended.
It has been agreed, he added, an agreement to be signed regulating free access to the labor market of the citizens from the three countries, meaning they will be allowed to reside and work in North Macedonia, Serbia and Albania.
According to Mali, the border services of the three countries should introduced a system of uninterrupted functioning by the end of the year.
The Serbian Minister also announced that a joint working group will be set up tasked with aligning the tax policy of the Open Balkan countries.
Over the weekend, the Serbian city of Nis hosted a meeting of over 160 representatives of the governments and institutions from North Macedonia, Serbia and Albania. North Macedonia was represented by Deputy Agriculture Minister Trajan Dimkovski.
