Murtezani – Bunford: Essential to continue reforms and use European instruments for institutional, economic development

Skopje, 24 February 2025 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani met Monday with Hungary’s special envoy for the Western Balkans, Ambassador Zsolt Bunford, affirming the close and dynamic cooperation between the two friendly countries, the Ministry of European Affairs said in a press release.

According to the Ministry, the meeting focused on North Macedonia’s European dossier and the implementation of the reform agenda within the framework of the European Commission’s Western Balkans Growth Plan. 

Minister Murtezani thanked Bunford for the continued support by Hungary, “especially evident and vocal during their recent Presidency of the Council of the European Union”.

“Murtezani and Bunford agreed it is essential to continue the reform processes and make use of all European instruments for institutional and economic development that will accelerate the country’s European path. They stressed the importance of regional cooperation, as a key factor for stability and progress in the Western Balkans,” the Ministry said.

At the meeting, Minister Murtezani and Ambassador Bunford reaffirmed their commitment to strengthened bilateral cooperation and intensive communication between the two governments aimed at fulfilling joint European goals, it said.
