Skopje, 15 October 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski welcomed European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the Skopje International Airport on Wednesday. 

"This afternoon at the Skopje Airport, I welcomed the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who arrived in Skopje today as part of her Western Balkans agenda," Mucunski posted on Facebook.

The Minister said he expects support for the European integration process to be reaffirmed at Wednesday's meetings.

"I expect that today's meetings will reaffirm support for the European integration of the Western Balkans and the region's gradual integration into the European Union's Single Market. European Union membership remains a strategic priority of the Macedonian foreign policy," Mucunski pointed out. 

During her stay in Skopje, European Commission President von der Leyen will meet President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi.
