Skopje, 1 September 2025 (MIA) – Venko Filipche today, once again, talked about the EU negotiations being allegedly blocked. But, the truth us sad and simple – thanks to SDS and DUI, the negotiations cannot be blocked, because they were never even launched, Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski said Monday responding to SDSM leader’s remarks that the government hasn’t been doing anything to unblock the country’s EU integration process.

“You won’t hear us saying big words without any grounds and empty steps in the present. Our job is to offer results rather than excuses. That’s why we are moving the country forward where it belongs – in Europe. It’s not a slogan, it is a reality we are building through concrete projects: free roaming for our citizens in the EU, green lanes for our transporters, access to the European single payment system, security and defense partnership with the EU. These are real reforms; these aren’t empty phrases. 

Thus, Venko is right: I talk about and I make efforts to secure cheaper roaming for the Macedonian citizens. But I also talk about a protected identity, dignity and pride. Also, I don’t talk about backing down, about administrators, about under-the-table deals, about accepting blackmails and ultimatums as they had done. There is a difference – and the citizens see it.

Which is why I call on the opposition to act rationally and sensibly. Not to harm the European process, but to help it by pursuing reforms at home. Because this isn’t a fight for personal or partisan interests. It is a fight for the citizens, the country and the future. And we will prosper only if we put state interests above party interests,” Mucunski stresses in a Facebook post.
