Skopje, 26 July 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, criticized his predecessor Bujar Osmani, on Saturday stating that he demonstrates double political standards, promoting European values while in office, but using the issue of coexistence to create divisions when in opposition.
“It is interesting how some people are progressive Europeans while in power, yet once they’re in opposition, they turn into champions of division and destabilization. Osmani was part of a government where Macedonians were in the minority, that didn’t seem to bother him. In fact, decisions in both the Government and Parliament were made without a Macedonian majority, and that was all fine, democratic, European. But now, when a clear democratic majority exists, when people, regardless of ethnicity, have voted for change, suddenly that’s a ‘coexistence problem,’ according to him,” Mucunski posted on Facebook.
He emphasized that for Osmani, the problem is not the model itself, the problem is that DUI is no longer at the table.
“In the meantime, we are working to repair the damage you left behind, both at home and abroad. Through work, through principles, through respect. Not through threats and manipulation. Democracy isn’t valid only when you are in power. And the citizens have already made their voice heard, clearly, at the elections,” Mucunski said.
Mucunski noted that he believes in coexistence, dialogue, and a future based on equality.
“I believe in coexistence, in dialogue, and in a future built on values, equality, and progress. Unlike him, I have always worked toward unity, because I want to live in a country that connects people, not divides them. A country that builds, not destroys. Modern. Confident. European,” Mucunski added.
