Skopje, 23 September 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski says the Strategic Dialogue with the United States integrates series of concrete measures aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
"At a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio back in May, we defined the joint priorities in bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as the enhanced trade and economic dynamics. We are seeing these priorities being implemented step by step. We will open multiple topics within the dialogue, including visa facilitation. We are not promising this will happen overnight, but it is already on the table of discussions with the administration in Washington," FM Mucunski told Sitel.
He refers to being a NATO ally alongside the United States and the ongoing talks over a new trade arrangement.
"We are sharing the common concerns on the European and global challenges with our allies, and it is always important to have high-level coordination of positions and exchange of opinions. Regarding the tariffs, we are in the final stage of drafting a new solution that will result in lower taxes for products we export to the US. A draft-text is already in place, the negotiations are developing well, and I expect a final version soon that will be presented to the public," adds Mucunski.
The FM also highlights the importance of having numerous meetings with global leaders, noting they represent an opportunity to affirm the Government's positions on core issues.
"We will continue to use all opportunities available to the country in the multilateral context, because diplomacy should not be abstract - it should bring concrete benefits to citizens," says Mucunski.
