Mucunski: Power of solidarity is at core of NATO alliance

Skopje, 27 March 2025 (MIA) - Addressing Thursday's meeting with ambassadors of NATO member-states and partners on the fifth anniversary of North Macedonia's Alliance membership, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski reiterated deep gratitude for their assistance and support in providing urgent care for the young patients who were injured in the recent tragedy in Kochani, in which 59 people lost their lives and over a hundred sustained severe injuries.
"Your swift response showed the power of solidarity, which is at the core of our alliance, and which was demonstrated wholeheartedly in this case. This case once again showed the importance of solidarity, which we should fully and jointly foster as the main pillar in our relations. Thank you once again for all your support in one of the most difficult times for our country," said Mucunski.
He stressed the Government's commitment to a full investigation into the tragedy.
"For our part, as a Government, we are already taking all necessary measures to fully investigate the case, including bringing to justice all those involved who have contributed to this tragedy. As a Government, we are committed to resolutely fight against corruption and all deviant phenomena aimed at weakening and disrupting our system. We will not allow that. Our goal is to strengthen trust and promote the functionality of the system in which citizens will have full confidence," Mucunski said in his address.
