Mucunski: Mickoski led VMRO-DPMNE delegation at EPP Congress working on affirmation of national positions in context of EU integration

Skopje, 29 April 2025 (MIA) - We are working on affirmation of national positions related primarily to European integration. The need for accelerated integration of the Western Balkans into the EU is imperative for both the region and the EU. Our Macedonian national interests will be protected, our positions will be represented and, of course, we will be an equal part in the gathering of the most powerful political family in Europe, said VMRO-DPMNE Vice President Timcho Mucunski, who is part of a party delegation led by VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski, at the European People's Party (EPP) Congress in Valencia, Spain.

"The European People's Party is currently the most powerful and influential political family in Europe. President Mickoski will deliver an address ahead of the plenary session, but we are also scheduled for many meetings. We will meet with the new Austrian Chancellor Stocker, with the leader of the Albanian opposition Berisha, with SNS leader Vučević, with the chair of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs McAllister," said Mucunski, as cited by VMRO-DPMNE.

VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski is heading a party delegation to the EPP Congress 2025 in Valencia, Spain, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The party delegation includes Vice Presidents Aleksandar Nikoloski and Timcho Mucunski, International Cooperation Secretary Stefan Andonovski, as well as representatives of the Union of Women led by President Zhaklina Peshevska and representatives of the Union of Young Forces.

Mickoski is to address the first plenary session at the congress, VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release on Tuesday. He is also set to hold several bilateral meetings, including a meeting with the Austrian Chancellor and leader of sister party ÖVP, Christian Stocker, as well as with the leader of the Serbian Progressive Party and former Prime Minister of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, the leader of the Democratic Party of Albania and former Prime Minister and President of Albania, Sali Berisha, and other European leaders.

In addition, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski will attend a dinner organized for EPP leaders.
