Mucunski meets Luxembourg’s Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel

Skopje, 14 April 2025 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, met with Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel during a working visit. 

The bilateral meeting reaffirms Luxembourg’s strong interest in the Western Balkans as well as our country’s strategic commitment to European integration and its contribution to regional stability, security and peace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

“Both ministers welcomed the excellent friendly relations between the two countries and expressed a joint commitment to intensifying political dialogue in the coming period. They also discussed possibilities to enhance bilateral cooperation, with special emphasis on economic and trade relations, aimed at utilizing opportunities for new investments,” reads the press release.

Mucunski thanked the European Union for its support following Kochani tragedy and expressed appreciation for Luxembourg’s ongoing and strong support for our country’s path toward EU membership, including its help with reforms, technical support and expert assistance.

During the meeting, progress our country has made in implementing reforms was highlighted, along with efforts to remain at the forefront in fulfilling the reform agenda. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, reaffirmed Luxembourg’s readiness and support for further advancing our country’s EU integration process.
