Mucunski: Enhanced economic cooperation with Slovakia is our priority

Skopje, 6 August 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met with the Ambassador of Slovakia, Henrik Markus, on Tuesday.
Interlocutors welcomed the close friendly relations along with intensive political dialogue and wide sectoral cooperation, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
"This year, the two countries mark the 30th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations. In that regard, the interlocutors expressed mutual satisfaction with the constant upward trend in the relations between the two partner countries, highlighting mutual commitment to further strengthen the relations," reads the press release.
Minister Mucunski expressed particular gratitude for the support and activities of the Republic of Slovakia regarding the country's European integration process, which are significant not only at the bilateral level, but also as part of the regional formats - the Slavkov Trilateral and the Visegrad Group. Given the successful trend in the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries, he underlined that enhanced economic cooperation with Slovakia is the country's priority in the coming period.
Ambassador Markus reaffirmed Slovakia's strong support to the country's EU accession process, expressing confidence that Slovakia will continue to encourage the country's progress to full-fledged EU membership in the future.
