Skopje, 9 October 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski attended the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held Thursday in Belfast within the Berlin Process.
Discussions at the meeting focused on regional cooperation, the European perspective of the Western Balkans, and joint security challenges, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.
In his address at the meeting, Minister Mucunski highlighted the need for a joint response to modern security risks – hybrid and cyber threats, disinformation, migrations, illegal financing, and organized crime, which further impact security and stability, undermining institutions and public trust.
The meeting highlighted the European Union’s enlargement policy as a vital framework for the transformation of society and promoting good neighborly relations, democratic standards and the rule of law. The ministers jointly concluded that the gradual integration, the Growth Plan, and the Common Regional Market bring the Western Balkans significantly closer to the European Union and make the accession process more tangible for the citizens.
