Muaremi: If Ruskovska has information and evidence she can file an indictment
Skopje, 4 August 2022 (MIA) – Financial Police Director Arafat Muaremi calls on the chief prosecutor for organised crime Vilma Ruskovska, if she has information about a committed crime, to prove it and to file an indictment against him, and not to provide unfounded knowledge and information, discrediting her duties she performs.
Upon Ruskovska’s declared views, Muaremi said in a written statement to the media that failure to prosecute a crime due to pressure is a criminal act.
“I also join your call to the embassies and all the parties to whom you ask for "help", let them confirm what the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of North Macedonia determined by the supervision of your illegal operations and unethical behavior. There must be responsibility for your arbitrariness,” Muaremi said.
The role of a public prosecutor, Muaremi noted, is at least to state that will share knowledge and information with the public so that she can judge who is a criminal.
“Prosecutor Ruskovska seems to deliberately forget that crime is proven within the framework of institutions, and citizens are the ones who trust them based on their work. The latest opinion polls show that public has unfavorable views of the public prosecutor,” Muaremi said.
