Skopje, 9 June 2025 (MIA) – Parliament on Monday at its 54th session will discuss the government motion nominating Azir Aliu to be appointed as health minister. A motion nominating Albrim Hoxha to be deputy minister of agriculture, forestry and water economy is also in the session’s agenda.

Aliu, who has a PhD in information sciences, currently teaches at the Faculty of Computer Sciences and Technologies at the SEE University in Tetovo. Aliu served as minister of information society and administration in 2023 and 2024 in addition to holding other top posts, according to his CV.

Last week, PM Hristijan Mickoski said he expected to have good cooperation with Aliu as part of the government. According to First Deputy PM and Environment Minister Izet Mexhiti, Aliu is the best nominee for health minister. A minister should be a good manager that knows the system and can contribute to improving the sector, he said.

Aliu is part of the Alliance for Albanians that remains in the Vlen coalition following Arben Taravari’s resignation as health minister on May 15 and his decision to join the opposition.

Albrim Hoxha works as a journalist after graduating from the faculty of law at the Tetovo State University.
