MPs to debate motion on Kocevski's dismissal and ruling majority resolution condemning opposition's manipulations over migration

Skopje, 16 December 2025 (MIA) – Parliament is due to hold Tuesday the 76th session whose agenda includes a motion on dismissing Ljupcho Kocevski as the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Republic of North Macedonia and a motion put forward by VMRO-DPMNE, Vlen and ZNAM condemning the opposition’s manipulations and reaffirming policies against illegal migration.

In the motion, the government says Kocevski should be dismissed due to gross professional errors in the management of the Public Prosecutor's Office, which lead to the disruption of its efficiency and functionality; unauthorized disclosure of information and data on court cases, thus violating the obligation of secrecy of proceedings; damaging the PPO's and his own reputation by not proceeding in line with provisions from the Constitution, laws and international ratified treaties.

The nine-point motion condemning the opposition’s manipulations and reaffirming policies against illegal migration “once and for all puts an end to the manipulative topic involving migrants.” Yesterday, Nikola Micevski, coordinator of the VMRO-DPMNE parliamentary group, said the resolution condemns any manipulative behaviour ending all speculation and fake manipulation on alleged admitting of migrants and construction of migrant camps in the country and lays down a clear migrant policy framework.
