Skopje, 7 March 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski is paying a visit to Israeli company "Elbit Systems", a long-standing partner in the enhancement of technical systems and security capacities of the Ministry, especially within the Safe City project.

MoI Toshkovski wrote in a Facebook post that the visit is an exceptional opportunity for experience exchange and acquainting with latest IT solutions developed by Elbit Systems in the management of contemporary security challenges. Focus was placed on innovations in border protection, urban security and fight against terrorism, as well as opportunities for integration of advanced technologies in the country's security system.

In the framework of the visit, Minister Toshkovski met with Israeli police chief, Rafael Engel, Director General at the National Security Ministry, discussing avenues to strengthen cooperation in the field of security and exchange of good practices in the fight against terrorism and organized crime. Toshkovski extended his most sincere condolences for the victims of the 7 October 2023 attack, and his support in the efforts to bring hostages back to their homes.

Interlocutors agreed that Macedonia and Israel are friendly countries with mutual commitment to security and stability, which can be advanced even further through exchange of knowledge, experience and tech solutions. Dealing with terrorist threats and strengthening of international cooperation were discussed, accentuating the necessity for preventive strategies and contemporary solutions that ensure fast and efficient response in the efforts to protect citizens.

"This visit is a step further in strengthening the bilateral partnership in the security sector, as well as proof of our commitment to modernization of security structures through cooperation with global leaders in the field," says Toshkovski.
