Skopje, 27 September 2022 (MIA) – Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski met Tuesday with new Hungarian Ambassador to North Macedonia, Andras Klein, discussing Budapest’s support to Skopje’s EU accession. Minister Spasovski and Ambassador Klein also referred to the continued support in the form of police officers deployed at North Macedonia’s southern border since 2015, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release. Hungary is one of the eight countries which police officers conduct joint patrols for enhanced supervision of the southern border, preventing attempts for illegal entry or exit of migrants, as well as detection of migrant smuggling cases, which in turn contributes to the protection of EU borders.
