Debar, 13 September 2023 (MIA) - Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski met Wednesday in Tirana with Albanian counterpart Taulant Balla, ahead of tomorrow's participation at the Conference of Ministers of Interior within the Berlin Process.

"The Tirana conference is an opportunity for enhancement of the already successful cooperation between the Ministries of Interior of North Macedonia and Albania. Through the commitment for goodneighborly relations and regional cooperation, especially in the field of cross-border cooperation, the successful implementation of the protocols of the Police Cooperation Convention for Southeast Europe, and the joint participation in regional initiatives, I can say that cooperation between the countries' border services has been continuous," Minister Spasovski wrote in a Facebook post.

Spasovski and Balla agreed on the start of the preparations for round-the-clock operations of Dzhepishte-Trebisht border crossing near Debar, which is currently open from 6 am to 8 pm in the summer period and from 8 am to 6 pm during the winter.

"We continue to intensify all activities that have already started, while initiating new ones that open the European perspectives for the citizens and the region. Our goals are security and safety of citizens, rule of law and European institutions," says Spasovski.
