MoH: Patient with burn injury returning from Austria, rehabilitation teams from abroad have arrived
- One patient, who was hospitalized in a medical center in Austria after being injured in a deadly March 16 fire that broke out in a nightclub in Kochani, is coming back home today. According to the protocols, he will be admitted in a hospital for 24-hour medical observation. Also, burn patient rehabilitation teams have arrived from abroad, says the Health Ministry on Thursday.

Skopje, 3 April 2025 (MIA) – One patient, who was hospitalized in a medical center in Austria after being injured in a deadly March 16 fire that broke out in a nightclub in Kochani, is coming back home today. According to the protocols, he will be admitted in a hospital for 24-hour medical observation. Also, burn patient rehabilitation teams have arrived from abroad, says the Health Ministry on Thursday.
A total of 80 patients are receiving treatments in medical centers abroad with two receiving outpatient treatment, says the ministry adding the patients’ condition has remained the same in the past few days.
“A patient upon returning from Greece was admitted yesterday at the Clinic for Plastic Surgery and they will be discharged after undergoing examinations. Currently, three patients are hospitalized at the clinic,” says the ministry.
It adds that three patients are treated at the September 8 General Hospital in Skopje, whereas six are treated at the St Naum of Ohrid hospital. Two patients are treated at the clinic of pulmonology. The number of patients treated in private hospitals in Skopje remains the same.
“Teams from abroad have arrived with extensive experience in rehabilitation of burn patients. At the moment, they are evaluating the premises and devices used in several centers for rehabilitation of burn patients. The Health Ministry remains in constant contact with the medical teams at home and abroad all the while being committed to providing the best possible care for every single patient injured in the Kochani incident,” says the press release.
