MoH: Over 586,000 citizens inoculated
Skopje, 15 August 2021 (MIA) – A total of 586,384 citizens have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose in the country so far and 471,728 have been fully vaccinated. A total of 1,058,112 vaccine doses have been administered in North Macedonia to date, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said on Sunday.
On Friday and Saturday, 22,586 citizens were vaccinated against COVID-19 nationwide, including 13,950 who received their first vaccine dose, reads the release.
The Ministry of Health’s latest figures show that 67 percent of the population over 70; 64 percent of the population over 65; 60 percent of the population over 60; and 50 percent of the population over 50 have received at least one vaccine dose.
The Health Ministry underlined that vaccines are safe and efficient, adding that they are the only way to defeat the pandemic.
Full vaccination prevents serious symptoms, as well as lowers the chances of getting infected and dying from COVID-19, notes the press release.
The Ministry adds that walk-in vaccinations are available at vaccination sites nationwide.
Medical teams are also vaccinating people across the country, visiting towns and village, while parents of children over 12 can get their children’s vaccination appointments at vakcinacija.mk.
