Skopje, 4 July 2023 (MIA) - Minister of Local Self-Government Risto Penov and Head of OSCE Mission, Ambassador Kilian Wahl signed Tuesday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that reaffirms cooperation in the implementation of joint activities aimed to improve the local self-government system in period 2023-2025.

Interlocutors agreed that cooperation with the OSCE Mission in the field of local self-government is important for the purpose of strengthening the institutional and democratic capacity in the management of local processes, the Ministry of Local Self Government (MLSG) said in a press release.

They also noted the institutions' commitment, especially during North Macedonia's incumbent OSCE Chairmanship, including the maximum efforts to resume the Euro-integration processes.

The MoU will enable implementation of joint activities in the realization of the strategic priorities for stable, democratic, inclusive and balanced development, through improvement of the functionality of local self-government, in the interest and with the involvement of citizens, reads the press release.
