Misajlovski: Success of US-Adriatic Charter a testament to joint commitment to regional security, stability

Skopje, 4 December 2024 (MIA) - The discussions at the ministerial meeting of the US-Adriatic Charter are a testament to our firm commitment to the promotion of security cooperation, as well as peace, stability and good neighborly relations in our region, said Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski who is participating in the meeting held in Tirana.
According to the Defense Ministry, at the meeting, Misajlovski underscored the significance of the political and military cooperation between the Balkan countries and the commitment of the countries to the European and Euro-Atlantic integration processes for regional security and stability.
“The cooperation within the A5 group is practical and sends a clear message that our people want to live in peace, security and stability,” Misajlovski said, assessing the Charter as a successful forum for consultations between countries with shared democratic values.
The Defense Minister urged pragmatism regarding potential joint activities, especially in tackling hybrid and cyber threats, crisis management and dealing with various natural disasters. He said the countries should continue their efforts to identify new opportunities for cooperation.
The Ministry stated that Misajlovski, alongside the other representatives at the meeting, signed a joint statement.
Later on Wednesday, Misajlovski is expected to hold bilateral meetings with his Albanian counterpart Pirro Vengu, and with the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Celeste Wallander.
