Misajlovski – Heybet: Macedonian-Turkish defense cooperation model for firm partnership

Skopje, 27 March 2025 (MIA) - Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski met Thursday with the Turkish Deputy Minister of National Defense, Musa Heybet, whom he thanked for “the medical assistance provided by friendly Türkiye in treating some of the injured in the Kochani tragedy”.
“Our two countries have been exceptionally close for several decades and we are seeing this in action,” the Minister said thanking the Deputy Minister, according to a press release by the Ministry of Defense.
In the context of defense cooperation, Misajlovski said it is “a model for how allies should cooperate and support each other”.
“The Macedonian Army is being modernized and equipped with equipment produced by Türkiye among others, which shows it is in line with the highest standards of the alliance, and we have absolute trust in the Turkish defense industry,” Misajlovski said.
In the press release, the Ministry noted that in 2025 the Army is expected to receive Turkish “Boran” howitzers as well as “Aselsan” fire control systems.
