Skopje, 17 July 2024 (MIA) – Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski thanked German Ambassador Petra Drexler and German Defense Attaché Lieutenant Colonel Hans Peter Wamsler for the excellent defense cooperation, especially in the process of integration into NATO, at a meeting held at the Ministry of Defense earlier on Wednesday.

At the meeting, the Ministry of Defense announced, Misajlovski noted that the defense budget remained at 2 percent of GDP, according to the NATO commitments. The defense minister also said the Macedonian government would continue to support Ukraine.

Meeting participants also discussed the country's contribution to NATO-led operations, highlighting regional stability as one of the key factors for the further prosperity of the Western Balkans in their process of European integration. 

"Our country is clearly positioned and respected by all members of the Alliance, which was noticeable at all previous meetings and the NATO Summit, and remains a reliable partner in cooperation," the release says. mr/
