Skopje, 6 December 2024 (MIA) - The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources has set up a commission for monitoring of electricity supply, a key mechanism for monitoring and swift response in potential crisis situations or disruptions in the energy system.
At its inaugural meeting, the commission laid the foundations for its operations and adopted the plan for regular analysis of the state of play on the domestic and regional energy market, the Ministry said in a press release.
The commission will serve as point of coordination among all relevant institutions, energy companies and experts, carry out continued monitoring of electricity supply, analyses of market trends and potential risks, and propose specific measures to prevent crises.
"The establishment of this commission is an example of a proactive approach in the energy sector. The objective is not only to respond to a crisis but also build a system that prevents and ensures stability for citizens and the economy," said Minister Sanja Bozhinovska, who initiated the commission's formation.
Besides ministry representatives, the commission will include outside experts in its work.
