Skopje, 27 September 2023 (MIA) — Participants of the Ministerial Conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education that began Tuesday will visit Ss. Cyril and Methodius University and International Balkan University to discuss organizational change management.

The conference aims to discuss trends and developments in the EU and the Western Balkans in higher education; ways to improving the quality of higher education in the region; as well as quality assurance as an objective way to measure quality in line with standards and guidelines for quality assurance in higher education.

"This topic is exceptionally important for the state university and it is our honor to have the opportunity to present our activities for providing quality education to the regional representatives of ministries in charge of higher education, higher education quality assurance agencies, higher education institutions and international organizations," a Ss. Cyril and Methodius University press release said.

The two-day conference is organized by the Ministry of Education and Science in cooperation with the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe.

The education ministers of North Macedonia and Montenegro, Jeton Shaqiri  and Miomir Vojinovic, together with education ministry representatives from Serbia and Lithuania as well as over 80 representatives of other regional educational institutions and experts from the European Union gathered Tuesday to discuss challenges in higher education in the region.

They also considered ways to raise its competitiveness at the global level through strengthening regional ties and cooperation.

European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education president Douglas Blackstock and European Quality Assurance Register director Magalie Soenen are also participating in the conference. mr/
