Minister Taravari to launch campaign for free screening of liver diseases
- The Health Ministry together with the Clinic for Gastroenterohepatology and Bitola’s “Hepar Centar” to mark World Hepatitis Day is launching Monday a nationwide campaign for free and anonymous screening for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV and elastography for chronic liver diseases.
Skopje, 29 July 2024 (MIA) – The Health Ministry together with the Clinic for Gastroenterohepatology and Bitola’s “Hepar Centar” to mark World Hepatitis Day is launching Monday a nationwide campaign for free and anonymous screening for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV and elastography for chronic liver diseases.
To mark the start of the campaign, Health Minister Arben Taravari will visit a mobile unit located on Macedonia square in Skopje to conduct a free and anonymous screening and early detection of liver diseases.
The campaign will take place in ten cities nationwide. It aims to raise awareness about liver diseases, including liver cancer, fatty liver of alcoholic and non-alcoholic nature, cirrhosis and rare liver diseases.
